GBA Gut-Brain Axis
GBA Gut-Brain Axis is a patent-pending medical nutrition platform developed to address five interconnected biologic dysfunctions increasingly associated with chronic traumatic brain injury (TBI): persistent neuroinflammation, blood-brain barrier disruption, gut-brain axis dysfunction, microvascular impairment, and impaired neuroplastic signaling.
These same underlying dysfunctions are also increasingly recognized in Long COVID and other chronic neurologic conditions, representing a significant and rapidly growing market opportunity.
The company was founded by Scott Bukow, a former global educator, formulator, and international director for Metagenics/The Institute for Functional Medicine, with more than 30 years of experience in clinical nutrition and functional medicine education across 24 countries. Following his own severe traumatic brain injury in 2014, Scott shifted his focus toward developing a systems-based medical nutrition approach designed to support neurologic recovery alongside traditional rehabilitation and medical care.
