Phyteau is developing a completely safe, effective and affordable, new class of GLP-1-based therapeutics for diabetes, obesity, prediabetes and weight loss. Our therapeutics are free of adverse side-effects, are low cost, and represent the first new first-line treatments in decades.

Our therapeutics represent the next step in the evolution of "incretin" or GLP-1-based therapy.  However, instead of exogenously injecting a risky, synthetic GLP-1 hormone analogue like Ozempic and Mounjaro, Phyteau’s oral therapeutics safely activate the intestinal enteroendocrine system to release more natural GLP-1, as well as complementary metabolic hormones like PYY, GIP. OXM, CCK and GLP-2.  The result is an elimination of the side effects, safety risks and high cost of GLP-1 analogue drugs, while expanding the potential therapeutic benefits to safely and affordably lower blood glucose levels, reduce appetite and weight, and restore healthy metabolic function.

Phyteau is a university spinout leveraging technology developed by our team at Caltech, UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.  We currently have 7 patents, 3 more pending patents and more patents to come across the US, China and EU.  Our target customers are 2 billion people around the world that suffer from one or more metabolic challenges including diabetes, prediabetes, obesity and liver diseases, as well those who need to achieve healthier weight. Phyteau’s deep technology platform and range of patented agents allows us to pursue multiple global markets to meet the unmet needs of these patients worldwide. This includes pharmaceutical products as well as innovative new products for consumer health.
