MILO Insulation, LLC

Patented, All-Natural Attic Insulation Made From Agricultural Sorghum Seeking Funding for Expansion

1.0 Executive Summary

MILO Insulation, LLC processes agricultural sorghum (or "Milo") through a patented manufacturing process to produce a new, “All-Natural” blow-in attic insulation called MILEX™ 2.0. Using state-of-the-art equipment, our "green" insulation outperforms traditional fiberglass or cellulose insulators in nearly every category. MILEX™ is 100% Natural, 100% free of harmful, toxic chemicals, 100% biodegradable, 100% renewable and the sorghum is grown by plains farmers in the Texas panhandle.

MILO Insulation, LLC operates a Raw Material Plant in Tulia, Texas that takes field grain from our farmers and processes it into “Natural Plastic Resin”. Resin is then sent to cooperator-dealer  extrusion plants that in turn make MILEX™ insulation locally. The raw material resin to make MILEX™ is heavy and can be easily shipped. However, the finished product is very light, and is cost prohibitive to ship over 100 miles. Therefore, MILO Insulation, LLC envisions a chain of separate extrusion plants utilizing the resin to produce MILEX™ near major market areas around the country. To date, MILO Insulation has identified approximately 150 prospective markets nationwide.

Currently, MILO Insulation, LLC’s first extrusion plant in Tulia, Texas (serving the Texas panhandle) has seven (7) full time employees with conservative projected gross sales in excess of $1.2M dollars within the first two (2) years.

For expansion, MILO Insulation of Texas (hereinafter referred to as ”MIT”) is to be formed for the purpose of becoming a co-operator dealer near Austin, Texas, and is the first of a planned cooperator-dealer network for MILO Insulation. This new company will be managed and operated by parent office staff. MIT is seeking $185,000 for thirty-three (33) percent ownership of MIT with options to invest in other locations opened throughout Texas and/or neighboring states.

In accordance with the business model, MIT will need to add over 30 new employees within the next thirty-six (36) months.

2.0 Company Summary/History

In 1992, MILEX Corporation developed and patented an exciting new biodegradable product for the packaging industry that replaced industry standard polystyrene packing peanuts. These new "packing peanuts" were made from naturally grown, milled agricultural sorghum seeds (or "MILO") that were grown on the high plains, using state of the art equipment. This incredible new product became known worldwide as Milex™.

During the mid-1990's, the demand for environmentally friendly products was becoming extremely popular. As the word spread throughout the packing industry about Milex™, the company experienced tremendous global growth. And, in 2010, the exclusive rights to produce Milex™ type “packing peanuts” was purchased and eventually sold to the largest packaging material manufacturer in the world.

Currently, Milex™ continues to be used as the leading "green" packing material used globally by major corporations when shipping their packages. In fact, if you've received a package containing packing peanuts within the past 20 years, chances are you've already seen MILEX™.

It was during our years manufacturing MILEX™, we discovered through our customers, our packing peanuts did an exceptional job at insulating hot or cold items during shipping. This discovery prompted our research and development team to begin looking into the home insulation industry and what we found out was eye opening. Not only were there no affordable, truly "green" insulation choices available to homeowners, but our product outperformed the insulation levels of both fiberglass and cellulose blow-in attic insulators in nearly every category.
After the production rights for MILEX™ were sold in 2010, one-hundred percent of our attention turned to developing the world's first completely biodegradable, toxin-free home insulation that would impact consumers and our world in a positive way. Subsequently, after several years of research and development, MILO Insulation, LLC was formed in 2013. A new plant location was then acquired and a new raw material plant built. The world was then introduced to MILEX 2.0™. The safest and very best home insulation available anywhere in the world!
Today, MILO Insulation offers our incredible home insulation products to homeowners, general contractors and home builders of any size through our worldwide headquarters in Tulia, Texas, and are beginning a network of dedicated dealers across the country.

3.0 Products

MILO Insulation
currently offers loose-fill, blow-in attic insulation for primarily retro-fit (or existing home) insulation.

3.1 MILEX™ Blow-in
MILEX™2.0
is a new all-natural, loose-fill, blow-in insulator made from agricultural grain Sorghum. MILEX™2.0 outperforms insulation ratings of traditional cellulose or fiberglass insulators in nearly every category. Additionally, MILEX™’s exclusive “Thermal Puff” technology has extremely low shrinkage and creates a constant thermal barrier without the need to reinsulate every 10 years as with traditional toxic insulators.

3.2 MILEX™ Batt / MILEX™ Wall
MILEX™ Batt
and MILEX™ Wall is exterior and interior wall insulation that is in active testing stages. The primary market for MILEX™ Batt is residential or commercial structures as a wall insulator and sound barrier, and will be available in different length, width and thickness with “R” values ranging from 10 to 24. Loose-fill, blow-in wall insulation (MILEX™ Wall) will be primarily for new construction Residential homes.

3.3 MILEX™ Board
MILEX™ Board
is a developmental product that will have multiple uses. The primary market will be for use around the exterior of a residential or commercial structure as an insulator prior to siding or brick. MILEX™ Board will compete with industry standard petro-chemical “foam board”.

4.0 Competitive Edge

Cost and insulation performance gives MILEX™ a huge marketing advantage over traditional toxic insulators like cellulose or fiberglass. Traditional blow-in insulators shrink and deteriorate over time losing insulation values and energy efficiency. Because of this, traditional insulators require refreshing every 10 years in order to maintain and meet proper “R-value” codes.
MILEX™ "Thermal Puffs" are the secret to it's outstanding thermal resistance properties. Each puff contains thousands of tiny air pockets that create an amazing thermal blanket. And since MILEX™ has virtually zero shrinkage, those tiny air pockets remain intact which allows MILEX™ to retain maximum insulation value over a lifetime. MILEX™ never requires reinsulating which makes it the most cost-effective attic insulation on the market. MILEX™ is also backed by our exclusive "Lifetime-100" Warranty, which guarantees MILEX™ for the life of the home or 100 years, whichever comes fist. The warranty is also transferable which is a huge selling point for a homeowner because the new homeowner will never need to reinsulate.

5.0 Conclusion

MILO Insulation is poised to become a leading insulation provider for homes across the country. We are currently in later development stages of wall insulation products that will open up the new home construction market. This is the largest market segment of a 20 Billion dollar a year industry and our natural home insulation system will be an industry game changer for natural, renewable insulation building products.
