The largely underappreciated markets for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) diagnostics will grow to $12B by 2030. 70% of the 69M (worldwide) TBI cases are mild and only 50% of these are detected by CT scans. AD diagnosis is far too often detected too late for the available drugs to have material effect.
AperionDx has secured two contracts with the US military develop ultra-sensitive tests for these diseases and has been designated with ‘Sole Source Provider’ status for the upcoming Warfighter Brain Health Initiative. Additionally, AperionDx is partnering with a respected distributor in this industry segment with a sales network in 85 countries via 174 local distributors. AperionDx will sell into the RUO (Research Use Only) market starting in June-July 2026 and to clinical customers after FDA clearance directly and via our international distribution partner and to the US military directly.
Our tests are priced below our competitors to accelerate market penetration. AperionDx will leverage an unfair market advantage because unlike our competitors, we have designed our tests to work with generic qPCR instruments which number 250,000-1,000,000 worldwide as opposed to our competitors that have sold < 1500 their expensive ($70,000-600,000) proprietary instruments in their 20-year history. Due to this advantage, we expect to dominate a large segment of the ultra-sensitive protein detection market in the future.
