E3 Analytics is a building diagnostic intelligence company developing a new approach to managing energy and water utilization and costs. The technology standardizes and structures inherently inconsistent utility billing data, establishes contextual historical baselines, detects deviations from those baselines, and analyzes relationships among changes in energy and water consumption, power utilization, pricing, billing, and total costs. It then links changes in utility costs to their underlying operational or financial causes and quantifies their impact.

BUSINESS MODEL
E3 operates primarily through a subscription-based business model. Customers subscribe to the Building Pulse Diagnostic System for ongoing analysis of their utility accounts and receive recurring diagnostic intelligence regarding the operational and financial performance of their buildings.
Implementation begins with a diagnostic “Checkup” phase, using historical utility data to establish baselines, identify existing anomalies, and determine where costs may be reduced or recovered. This is followed by an ongoing monthly optimization phase, during which new utility data are analyzed against established baselines to identify emerging operational, pricing, metering, and billing problems.
Because the system relies principally on existing utility billing data, deployment does not require customers to make major capital investments in additional meters, sensors, audits, or hardware. This creates the potential for a highly scalable recurring-revenue model in which E3's diagnostic methodology can ultimately be applied across large portfolios of buildings and utility accounts.

E3 is designed primarily for organizations with significant energy and water expenditures and multiple buildings or utility accounts, including:
commercial real estate portfolios, universities and colleges, federal, state, and local government facilities, institutional campuses, healthcare organizations, large corporate facilities, and other owners and operators of commercial and institutional buildings.
The system is particularly relevant to energy managers, facility engineers, building operators, sustainability professionals, financial managers, and CFOs because it connects operational performance directly to financial performance.
EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS
E3's technology is the culmination of more than 30 years of utility-management experience by founder Joseph Zaloom. The underlying methodologies evolved through decades of hands-on work managing complex utility portfolios for major institutional and governmental organizations.
The founder and his predecessor company provided utility-management technology and services to organizations including the Architect of the Capitol, Smithsonian Institution, George Washington University, American University, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of the Interior, General Services Administration, and U.S. Office of Personnel Management, among others.
Documented customer results include the identification, recovery, and elimination of more than $1 million in utility billing errors over an 18-month period for the Architect of the Capitol, as well as $222,829 in annual savings and an approximately 100-to-1 payback for the Internal Revenue Service. TEAM AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
E3 is currently founder-led, with Joseph Zaloom providing the utility-management expertise, intellectual property, diagnostic methodology, and strategic direction behind the company. The immediate objective is to convert decades of domain expertise and proven analytical methodology into an increasingly automated, scalable diagnostic intelligence system.
The longer-term vision is to incorporate AI-driven diagnostic interpretation so that the expertise historically supplied by a highly experienced utility analyst can increasingly be embedded within the technology itself.
