WHY WE NEED THE FUNDING
During the transition from our old location to the new, our ability to open has been halted due to new City requirements. Not only has that prevented us from opening and booking new events, it has caused the need for more money to ensure we are up to code.
THE HENDRIX
We have secured the buildings and self-funded the bulk of the construction project.

WHO WE ARE
For over a decade, I have been the proud owner of What’s the Occasion and Floristry Houston. Collectively we have serviced thousands of incredible weddings and social events.
Over the years, we’ve realized that standard spaces didn't always work for our clients. Thus leading us to create our own perfect space.
The Hendrix as a venue concept started in 2020; with a small, yet extremely successful boutique space.
With client and industry demand to accommodate larger celebrations, in August of 2023 we secured a location to do just that.
The NEW Hendrix is a 9,200 sqft Wedding and Event Venue - and What’s the Occasion is a 14-year strong event design and rental company.
Combined – we will be Houston’s powerhouse for fabulous celebrations.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR
We have secured three buildings on Houston’s Southwest side and have put a great deal of design work, time, and money into the construction process. To date, the construction is 85% complete.
OUR PLANS FOR THE BUILDINGS
The event space will have elevated ceilings with luxury lighting. The highlight of the venue will be two custom-built bars and bar shelving. It will also feature a large prep kitchen, luxe groom and bridal suites and boutique style restrooms.
The upper level will be home to a 2,800 sqft showroom for What’s the Occasion. Allowing our clients to receive a full design and event planning experience in one place.
The Hendrix will accommodate a boastful 325-person guest count, which is hard to find in Houston. Thus, making us a highly sought venue space.
HOW YOUR FUNDS WILL HELP
We need to open by July 2024, and here is how your financial support will help us shape the space.
Your contribution will go towards:
· Health Code Required Plumbing
· Additional electrical and lighting
· Building a bar, bar shelves and DJ booth
· Sound system and up lighting
· Prep kitchen equipment
· Furniture, fixtures, and finishes
· Landscaping and exterior updates
· Fire Marshal Code Requirements
