Pegasus Equine Resort, LLC

The Pegasus Equine Resort (PER) will be located in the heart of the picturesque Cummings Valley, just outside of Tehachapi, CA. The local community offers a variety of equine-related activities, but there is a limited number of horse boarding facilities. Our goal is to provide affordable horse boarding for Tehachapi residents and surrounding areas in a scenic environment where owners can trust their horses are well-cared for at PER.

For equestrians traveling through the area, PER will offer temporary horse boarding and RV parking to cater to the needs of out-of-town visitors. Additionally, the spacious and attractive arena on the PER property will host a range of equine and animal-related events, such as rodeos, horse shows, horse and dog training clinics, 4-H practices and competitions, and more. The arena can also be rented for private events.

PER's CEO, Virginia Burroughs, holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a Master's Degree in Animal Science with a Wildlife Ecology Emphasis from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She has over 10 years of combined teaching experience in Animal Science, Biology, and Soil and Crop Science at Allan Hancock College, Cal Poly, SLO, and Bakersfield College. Virginia is also the Founder and Executive Director of Redemption Ranch, a local non-profit organization that rescues Pit Bull-type dogs and Mustang horses, using them in therapeutic programs for trauma survivors. With a lifelong passion for horses and over 25 years of horse ownership, Virginia is well-equipped to lead PER.

Tehachapi and its surrounding areas are a beautiful community and destination spot which offers numerous equestrian opportunities. However, there is a lack of boarding facilities to meet the growing demand. As Tehachapi continues to attract visitors with its stunning landscapes, pleasant weather, outdoor activities, wineries, rodeos, and other equine events, travelers will appreciate more accommodation options. By hosting popular events, PER will further increase interest in the area. Pegasus Equine Resort aims to promote Tehachapi's assets and appeal to both residents and visitors by fulfilling these needs!
