I am opening up a small phlebotomy school in Clayton NC.I want individuals to learn about an opportunity I just stumbled across. I am trying to open a small phlebotomy school in my area. When I was 20, I started searching for a career that would help me get through nursing school. I was pregnant at the time so I didn't really have a lot of options because I was so far along and under a lot of stress. I stumbled across a phlebotomy job by simply reading through the newspaper. The newspaper was a thing back then. So, I decided why not give it a try, so I did. The program was only 2 months long, and it was at night, so I had time to care for my older children at home. I had children at a young age so at that point in my life it was do something now or you are going to fail for the rest of your life. I am so happy I made that choice. I was a phlebotomist for 16 years before I became a nurse, but the career allowed me to take care of my children and helped me get through nursing school. I will always be grateful for that skill I learned. Now, I want to be that hope for others, helping to learn a skill that might save their life like it did mines. The area I live in has no schools closer than 25-30 minutes. So, I am trying to bring something to my town that is easier to assess. There is a college that is 25 minutes away, and you have your online classes, but what I am offering is a chance to have one- on- one instruction with small class sizes, and a place individuals can come to learn a skill that can lead to great career opportunities with a feeling of home. Where I am located is close to downtown and other areas where maybe transportation is not assessable, but my facility is close enough where some may be able to walk or Uber, or Lyft, without it being too much of a financial strain compared to trying to find a ride that is 25-30 minutes away. I believe my business can help a lot of individuals find a path in the medical field, which is very much needed in this day and age. I just want a chance to provide an opportunity that I was given in hope of changing someone's life.
