What we do: CareFlick is an AI-powered app that provides caregivers of people with dementia & autism with efficient care through personalised recommendations of therapies, and content as well as a social networking platform to connect with other caregivers, support groups & experts. We are building CareFlick as a
technology and data first platform to enable personalised caregiving at scale - this is our moat. We emphasise at scale because we have seen no other player trying to solve caregiving at scale even though the availability of professional caregivers is on a decline and the number of special needs cases are only rising.
Market & opportunity: The market is growing rapidly due to the aging population, increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, and rising demand for personalized care. The number of individuals aged 65 years and above is expected to increase from 703 million in 2019 to 1.5 billion by 2050, according to the United Nations. The caregiver support ratio (CSR) is defined as the number of potential caregivers aged 45–64 years, the most common caregiving age range, for each person aged 80+, the subgroup of older adults most at risk of needing long-term services and support. The estimated CSR is expected to progressively decline from 6:1 (2011) to 2:1 (2050) for all countries.
CareFlick aims to empower primary caregivers (family members, house help etc) as well as professional caregivers to provide efficient personalised care. The reason we are focusing on both kinds of caregivers is due to a) expected shortage of professional caregivers b) high caregiver turnover rate and c) lack knowledge and resources among primary caregivers

Abhishek Mohanty is the Founder & CEO. Being a design & marketing enthusiast, Abhishek founded his own design consulting firm in 2014 and a D2C brand in the Indian handicrafts space in 2016. He later joined Epoch Elder Care, a VC-backed healthcare startup in India focused at solving senior living needs, where he spent the next 6 years leading the design & marketing function and was part of the core leadership team. While developing an app for Epoch he uncovered his desire to build a tech driven solution that could address caregiving issues especially for people with special needs at scale. Abhishek has earned his Bachelors in automotive design from University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (India) and is currently pursuing product management from Kellogg Executive Education.
Himanshu Maharana is the Co-founder & CTO. An experienced Strategy Consultant with 7 years of Data Science and Solution Design/Architect experience with industries like Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Legal & Contracts, Armed Forces. Himanshu has been working with IBM as a Solutions Lead for various AI/ML (NLP, Virtual Assistant) projects and has helped organizations leverage AI & ML solutions to transform their business processes and improve their operations and customer experience. He is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore (India's top B-school) and NIT Rourkela (India).
Chinchu Joseph is the Head of Senior Care Program. An experienced health care professional, passionate about dementia and eldercare. She has worked with leading healthcare organizations in India. Before joining CareFlick she was the Facility Manager at Epoch Elder Care, a senior living startup in India and led the clinical operations for a memory care home. Chinchu holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She is also trained in dementia care from Swedish Care international.
Dushyant Arora is the Chief Design Officer. He is a people-centric design leader with 20+ years of experience working in organisations, both large and small across many industries, building and leading high performing teams and coaching individuals and teams to produce innovative results-oriented work. His career lives within the intersection of people, processes, technology, and design. He is on a mission to build delightful experiences for the end-users. Being a design community freak, he founded and evangelised a large annual UX Design Conference- Uxnow.org for the design and product fraternity that continues to grow today impacting new-age product designers. He was also the ex-head of design at MakeMyTrip (India's largest travel startup)
