DJ's Dirt Works

We are a small company that has been in business for 3.5 years now with an excavation and a trucking division.  We cover all types of dirt work and hotshot business.  We are located just outside of Fort Worth, Texas which is now the 5th fastest growing City in the Nation.  The Construction Industry for the Residential and Commercial side of things is unbelievable right now and we are trying to expand our operation to be able to fully take advantage of the growing economy.  One thing we have access to is a website called ConstructConnect.com which allows us to see every commercial bid in the area and also allows us to bid on these projects.  One thing that has kept us at bay so far though is the fact that a lot of these bids require a Bid Bond in the amount of at least 5%  of the bid due at the time the bid is placed.  When you're talking about Million Dollar projects and bids that are several thousands of dollars, these Bid Bonds can be in the Thousands of Dollars themselves.  This alone has kept us out of the bidding process on a multitude of jobs simply because we do not have that amount of capitol just sitting around to write a cashiers check with on the bid.  With the asking amount of investment we would be able to purchase another piece or two of equipment and have some money left to at least start on some of the smaller projects that are being offered right now.  From there we could begin to grow with personnel and move into bigger jobs and more equipment resulting in overall company growth.  I myself am also a 17 year Veteran of the City of Fort Worth Fire Department.  I have 8 years to go until retirement and when I reach that point I want this Company to be a Multi-Million Dollar Company in the DFW Area and beyond.  I have a vision to not just be another little guy with minimal equipment but to be one of the big dogs making top money in an industry that continues to grow, especially here in North Texas.  At the current time we deal with mainly home owners that live outside of the City itself on anywhere from 1/4 an acre to several hundred acres.  We do everything from Land Clearing to Rough and Final Grades on new home builds.  We dig ponds, install drainage culverts, install and repair rock driveways, regrade properties for proper drainage, and even pour some concrete.  We feel as though we are very successful in the area but also know that in order for us to grow we need to expand into new areas.  This investment would help us to succeed in this adventure and also allow us to gain the respect and trust of larger corporations by giving us the tools and access to basically play in the same ball field as they do resulting in more contacts and greater acknowledgement.
