Wildcat MicroFUND
About Wildcat MicroFUND
The Wildcat MicroFUND is an early-stage seed grant program established in 2018 within Weber State University's John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics, based in Ogden, Utah. It offers non-repayable cash awards up to $3,000 to entrepreneurs and startups across Weber, Davis, Box Elder, and Morgan counties, taking no equity in return.
Since inception, the MicroFUND has assisted over 300 entrepreneurs, awarded more than $780,000, and hosted over 200 pitch events, with support from partners including America First Credit Union. It serves entrepreneurs across any industry, from physical products and food businesses to technology platforms and services.
Funding is awarded based on milestone completion rather than a single lump sum, with applicants encouraged to treat the GetFUNDED process itself as an educational exercise in customer validation and value proposition development, alongside the direct financial benefit of the award.
