Wildcard Ventures is a venture capital fund built to turbocharge SportsTech* startups and their founding teams from the very beginning of their journey. Led by Tennis Australia and backed by some of the biggest names in world tennis, we invest in founders with global ambitions and an enormous will to succeed. We are 100% focused on investing in technology-led startups that impact the sports, health and entertainment industries. We are SportsTech focused, but we take a wide view of SportsTech. Simply speaking, if you are building innovative technology that aims to solve very real and large global problems that has application in the sports, health and entertainment industry, then we would like to hear from you. Tennis Australia is one of the most innovative sports organizations anywhere in the world. It governs the sport at the grassroots level, manages the elite pathway, owns events and tournaments including the Australian Open, as well as a large media business that produces the AO. This platform, alongside the people that make it happen, will help supercharge your business with advice, testing, market trials and introductions to our vast network across the sports, health and entertainment industry. WHEN WE INVEST Our preference is to back founding teams from the very beginning at pre-seed and seed stages, but we will also write our first cheques in series A rounds. We believe we hold unique insight into the sports and entertainment industry, which enables us to back exceptional teams with a big vision well before others feel comfortable. We also want to dramatically help supercharge your business, working with you to achieve product-market fit and rapidly expand your network across the globe. WHAT WE LOOK FOR We are on the search for exceptional founding teams who are technology-led and bring unique insights and opportunities to solving large global problems with an application in the sports, health, and entertainment industry.
