Western Australia Exploration Incentive Scheme

About Western Australia Exploration Incentive Scheme

The Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) is a Western Australian State Government initiative designed to promote and accelerate exploration in greenfield regions to assist in Western Australia's transition to net zero emissions by 2050. The program started in April 2009 and is managed by the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA) within the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE). Greenfields exploration programs and others targeting new commodities in new areas will be regarded favorably. In comparison, proposals in brownfield areas representing a natural extension of exploration activities, and especially those proximal to historical drillholes, known geology, and mineral resources, will be considered but are less likely to receive co-funding.
