Weave VC is a Vancouver-based, early-stage venture capital firm founded in July 2022 by Mark Mitchell, Jeffrey Manner, and Marco Donadeo, who previously ran the angel syndicate Red Thread Ventures from 2020 to 2022. The firm takes a hands-on approach, working closely with portfolio companies on strategy and support to help small-market founders scale into big-market technology businesses. Weave VC focuses on B2B software and deep tech across AI, fintech, hospitality, HR tech, sportstech, healthcare, and climate. Its portfolio includes Blossom Social, Thrive Network, Innova Cleantech, Wyvern, Levr.ai, ResVR, and Dyne. Through its $6M debut fund, Weave VC writes initial checks of $150K to $300K, targeting 3-6% ownership with reserves for follow-ons. It backs pre-seed founders raising their first $500K to $1.5M, mainly in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, while remaining open to opportunities beyond Western Canada.
