About Wattle Hill Capital
Wattle Hill Capital is a specialist investment manager focused on private equity and venture capital in the Australia and New Zealand region, delivering customised value-creating investment solutions for its global clients. Founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2016 by Albert Tse (with Lisa Fang), the firm manages over $300M on behalf of its investors.
Wattle Hill established its first Australian fund in March 2016 with two of the largest insurance groups from China and Europe, as well as family-office investors from China's leading private e-commerce and FMCG companies, giving it a distinctive cross-border capital base and network.
The firm focuses on quality Australian and New Zealand consumer goods, agribusiness, and healthcare businesses with export-ready products, typically targeting mid-market companies with $10M–$50M in revenue. Notable investments include the A$190M acquisition of Capilano Honey (with Roc Partners), Lyka, Upstreet, and Hachiko Energy.
Wattle Hill's investment approach centers on cross-border market access as its primary value-creation lever: rather than pursuing generic growth equity, the firm uses its consumer expertise and international advisor network to help ANZ businesses unlock demand and scale into Chinese and broader Asian markets.
