The best founders learn 10–100x faster than everyone else. Here's what they have in common. Massive ambition We need to believe in a 100–1000x outcome in order to underwrite an investment. If you are targeting a quick exit, we're not a fit. Technical founder At least one founder who can build high-quality product quickly. If you can't iterate with high velocity, you won't find product-market fit in time. 2+ co-founders Teams with two or more founders move at least 3x faster than solo founders. Context switching is brutal — one person can't execute well as both CEO and CTO. Customer obsession Shipping fast isn't enough if you're building in the wrong direction. At least one founder needs to be constantly talking to users and incorporating feedback. Testing assumptions Great founders are crystal clear on their assumptions and work aggressively to prove or disprove them. Fixing the problem matters more than any given solution. Accountability The best founders write investor updates like clockwork. If you're learning quickly, you have things to share. If you don't, you probably aren't moving fast enough.
