Beyond direct investing, Verdex operates Carrot Ventures, an AgTech venture studio commercializing agricultural technology innovations, and acts as a limited partner in select North American venture capital funds. It previously managed Alberta Enterprise Corp's Accelerate Fund I to stimulate entrepreneurship and angel investing across Alberta. The firm focuses exclusively on Canadian food and agricultural sectors, including AgTech, animal health, crop genetics, crop protection, biomass, precision farming, and urban farming.
