Third Derivative

Third Derivative (D3) is a global climate tech accelerator founded by RMI and New Energy Nexus. We’re looking for the world’s most promising and impactful climate tech startups to join our next accelerator cohort. If accepted, we’ll help you bridge critical finance and resource gaps, and align you with Third Derivative’s network of committed investors, corporate partners, market experts, and mentors. Eligibility Criteria Our accelerator is best suited for for-profit, early-stage climate tech startups that have achieved a basic level of technical readiness and are preparing for or already pursuing commercial traction. We invite startups that meet the following minimum criteria to complete the application: ▪ You have at least two full-time employees (Defined as two separate individuals each working full time, not a full-time equivalent across multiple people.) ▪ You have achieved TRL 4 or higher (That is, your solution has been validated in a lab setting, with all major components integrated and tested as a bench-scale system or beyond.) ▪ You are building a for-profit company (C-corp, B-corp, etc.) ▪ Your innovation does not have basic science risk (If your solution still depends on validating fundamental scientific principles in a lab, it likely falls under “basic science risk”.) ▪ You are actively seeking support, partnerships, and funding to advance your commercialization journey
