The OKC Minority Founder Accelerator

About The OKC Minority Founder Accelerator

The OKC Minority Founder Accelerator (OMFA) is a 16-week experience designed to accelerate OKC's minority entrepreneurship ecosystem by supporting BIPOC founders of high growth and main street business concepts in the metro area with potential. Eligible founders will receive a non-dilutive grant from the Alliance of Economic Development upon successful completion. Founder awards are designed to provide working capital and funding for businesses to execute the implementation plan created during the Operational Intervention. These funds will serve a similar purpose for the business as an equity infusion found in traditional accelerator programs, but will allow owners to maintain full ownership of their business (unlike traditional accelerator programs). Founder awards are NOT administered by OMFA staff, but instead by the Oklahoma City Alliance for Economic Development. Therefore the awards are limited to eligible founders and federally allowable expenses. Award amounts for eligible businesses are determined by annual revenues. Founders of businesses that earned under $200,000 will be granted $10,000, and founders of businesses earning annual revenues of over $200,000 will be granted $20,000.
