The Hive

The Hive is a VC fund and co-creation studio for startups, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Palo Alto, California. It works actively with founders to co-create and fund startups focused on data and AI, applying entrepreneurial and operational experience to accelerate company building. Beyond capital, The Hive helps founders add co-founders and build teams from its bench of top talent, and runs The Hive Think Tank, the largest community of AI and data innovators in the Bay Area with over 11,000 members. It maintains separate funds in Brazil, India, and Southeast Asia, currently investing in North America from The Hive IV. Its focus spans enterprise applications in fintech, insurtech, supply chain, and healthtech, leveraging data, AI, blockchain, and deep tech. Notable investments include Xage Security, TruU, System Two Security, Blockstream, and Sonet.io, with typical pre-seed and seed checks between $1.5 million and $3 million, plus help syndicating follow-on rounds.
