The City of La Grange Security Enhancement Grant Program

The City of La Grange’s Office of Community Development offers a Security Enhancement Grant Program which is designed to encourage, through the use of grants, the instillation of upgraded or new video surveillance systems in business within the City limits of La Grange resulting in reduced theft and increased employee productivity and safety. The Security Enhancement is funded by the La Grange Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and administered by the La Grange Community Development Office in conjunction with the La Grange Police Department. To receive assistance under this program, qualified applicants must complete the application and conduct their project under the guidelines listed herein. The purpose of the Program is: 1. To support the implementation of the adopted 2018-2038 Comprehensive Program Plan for the City of La Grange. 2. To encourage business investment in security measures, lower the cost of doing business, and level the playing field for business owners choosing to invest in their properties. Applicants who qualify may receive a grant of up to 50% of the total project cost with a maximum reimbursement of $1,500. To qualify for grant funds, the applicant must match the grant amount by an equal or greater investment of private funds for the installation of an upgraded or new video surveillance system. APPLICANTS • Must be business owners of the proposed business. (Must obtain project authorization from the property owner if the applicant does not own the property.) • Business owners must not be delinquent on property or business taxes, must not be engaged in a lawsuit with the City of La Grange, and must otherwise be in good standing with the City of La Grange. • Property must be located inside the City limits of La Grange and zoned for commercial use. • Commercial properties must comply with state and local code requirements.
