About The City of La Grange Business Expansion and Relocation Grant Program

The City of La Grange’s Office of Community Development offers a Business Expansion and Relocation Grant Program which is designed to encourage the expansion of current La Grange businesses and new business expansions and relocations to La Grange. The goal is that the business will directly benefit the La Grange community by strengthening the local economy through increased sales tax revenue, job creation, and significant capital investment within the city limits. The Business Expansion and Relocation Grant Program is funded by the La Grange Economic Development Corporation (EDC). To receive assistance under this program, qualified applicants must complete the application packet and conduct their project according to all applicable City of La Grange codes and ordinances. The purpose of the Program is: 1. To support the implementation of the adopted 2018-2038 Comprehensive Plan for the City of La Grange. 2. To incentivize the opening and expansion of businesses in La Grange which provide increased sales tax revenue, create primary jobs, and make a significant capital investment within the city limits. APPLICANTS • Must be a business owner of the proposed business. (Must obtain project authorization from the property owner if the applicant does not own the property.). • Business owner must not be delinquent on property or business taxes, must not be engaged in a lawsuit with the City of La Grange, and must otherwise be in good standing with the City of La Grange. • Project property must be located inside the City limits of La Grange and zoned for commercial use. • Commercial properties must comply with state and local code requirements. • All property improvements must comply with the La Grange Design Guidelines and the City of La Grange Code of Ordinances. • Business owner must participate in a Professional Development Program coordinated through the La Grange EDC in order to receive reimbursement funds.
