The BFM Fund

BFM Fund, formerly the Black Founders Matter Fund, is a Portland, Oregon-based seed-stage venture capital fund founded in 2020, investing in Black and innovative founders across the United States. It manages $10 million and received an equity investment from Bank of America in 2023. The fund is industry-agnostic, investing $50,000 to $100,000 at pre-seed and seed in revenue-generating startups. Investments include HUED, Saysh, Fridie Outdoors, MDisrupt, Stimulus, and Glow Up Games. BFM is returns-focused and seeks innovative, scalable ventures between seed and Series A that solve problems for underserved consumers and communities. It partners with industry-specific lead firms from Series Seed to Series C, and runs The Collective and The Emerge Initiative for founders and funders.
