Stoic VC is a Sydney-based early-stage venture capital firm, founded in 2019 in partnership with Uniseed, Australia's longest-running university venture fund. It invests in science and engineering from top Australian research, partnering with scientists and engineers to reshape industries. Through the Uniseed partnership, Stoic gives portfolio companies direct access to investors, operators and academics across 10 of Australia's top research institutions, backed by 20 years of commercialisation experience. It focuses on human health, advanced computing and the physical world, addressing environmental challenges. Portfolio companies include Kinoxis, Neurode, BioScout and Ena Respiratory, spanning cognitive therapeutics, brain stimulation, agricultural disease prevention and viral respiratory protection. Stoic's checks range from $100,000 to $1 million, and it begins with startups that have demonstrated proof of concept of their research. It targets technologies that become commercially viable products at great velocity, following a two-stage investment committee process alongside Uniseed.
