Stephen Johnson, Angel Investor

Stephen A. Johnson is an education entrepreneur, author, startup advisor, husband, and father. Born in South Central Los Angeles, Stephen leveraged his athletic ability to gain admission to one of the top private high schools in Los Angeles and was later pre-med at UCLA where he was the recipient of many awards including the Jet Propulsions Laboratory Undergraduate Scholar (JPLUS) Award and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) scholarship for his cutting edge research in the area of gene therapy. After his first year in a biomedical sciences PhD program, Stephen decided to leave the world of science and become a full-time entrepreneur and started one of Los Angeles’ first boutique full-service academic tutoring companies working with non-profit organizations, schools, and private families to coach high school and college students on their path to higher learning. Stephen returned to school to earn an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management where he was named a John Wooden Global Leadership Fellow, UCLA Anderson’s top student honor. Stephen is also an angel investor in startups across sectors such as Edtech, Legaltech, Spacetech, and Femtech, supporting ventures such as Aphelion Aerospace and Remaster.io while advising Edtech startups.
