About Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit focused on expanding children’s nutrition education, improving access to fresh, healthy food, and strengthening community wellness programs. The foundation partners with schools, local nonprofits, and community organizations to help young people build lifelong healthy eating habits. Its grantmaking centers on three core programs. Neighborhood Grants provide one-year funding to local schools and community organizations to support school gardens, nutrition classes, and youth wellness initiatives. Healthy Communities Grants offer two-year awards to nonprofits scaling existing programs or launching new food-access and youth nutrition projects. Impact Grants support high-capacity organizations working at larger regional or statewide levels to drive long-term, systemic improvements in nutrition and food accessibility. Since 2015, the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation has distributed millions of dollars in grants nationwide, supporting hundreds of programs related to school gardening, cooking education, mobile food access, and nutrition-focused community wellness. Its mission is to help children and families build healthier lives through education, engagement, and equitable access to nutritious food.
