Smoothwater Capital Corporation focuses on investing its own capital including in small to midcap Canadian public companies where there is an identifiable path to improve the share value significantly.​ Smoothwater works to effect change in targeted companies, often collaboratively with institutional and other like-minded investors who hold material positions but are not able to take on the time-consuming and costly activist role. Smoothwater Capital is operated by Garfield Mitchell, Chairman, and Stephen J. ​Griggs, CEO. We do our own research to identify potential investments, seeking companies that have hard assets that we can value and a pathway to a rapid increase in value, in which we can make a material investment.
