Sean Hunt, Angel Investor

Sean Hunt is Co-founder and CTO of Solugen, where he has led the company’s mission to transform chemical manufacturing through biotechnology. Since 2016, he has overseen the development of scalable, sustainable processes that replace fossil fuel–based inputs with bio-based alternatives, positioning Solugen as a leader in green chemistry. He holds a Ph.D. from MIT, where his graduate research focused on chemical engineering and advanced materials. Earlier experiences include engineering roles at Merck and NAVSEA, as well as internships in semiconductor and pharmaceutical technology. His career reflects a strong emphasis on applying scientific innovation to industrial-scale sustainability. As an angel investor, Sean has supported ventures in biotechnology and synthetic biology. His recent investment was in Anomaly Bio, a pre-seed company, highlighting his interest in startups that push the boundaries of bioengineering and sustainable science.
