In 2016, Roth and co‑founder Stephen Hawthornthwaite established a fully owned factory in China, enabling best‑in‑class sustainable manufacturing. They pioneered a 3D knitting process that reduces waste and developed Rothy’s signature thread spun from plastic water bottles. In 2021, the company set its boldest goal yet: achieving circular production within three years. Rothy’s expanded into accessories with The Bag Collection, crafted from marine plastic sourced near coastal environments and blended with its signature thread.
