Rochester Mural Grant

About Rochester Mural Grant

Art adorns outdoor space. That's the whole point of downtown Rochester's new Mural Grant, which helps encourage collaboration and creativity between business and artists to enhance the vitality of downtown. Any property or business owner whose property lies within the downtown Rochester special service district (SSD) is eligible for program funding. Qualifying murals may be produced using a range of materials but must be larger than two feet in length and or width and placed in a publicly viewable location. The funds may be used to pay for up to 70 percent of the costs associated with renderings, artist fees, installation equipment and materials of creating a mural. Grant funds will be provided as a reimbursement to the business or property owner. The funds will not be available to projects seeking assistance for a mural to advertise their business only, or for murals that are obviously commercial in nature.
