Richard Aberman, Angel Investor

Richard Aberman is an entrepreneur and investor with deep roots in fintech and startup acceleration. He co-founded WePay in 2008, leading product and growth until its acquisition by JPMorgan Chase in 2017, where he later served as Managing Director of Chase Payment Solutions. At Chase, he helped integrate WePay’s technology to power small-business payments, including the launch of Chase’s QuickAccept feature. After leaving JPMorgan, Aberman joined Y Combinator as a Visiting Group Partner, advising and mentoring founders across multiple batches from 2022 to 2023. His work at YC further cemented his role as a hands-on supporter of early-stage innovation across diverse sectors. As a full-time angel investor, Aberman has backed over twenty startups, often emerging from his YC network.
