We are an organization of seasoned business professionals and angel investors helping Seed Stage startups, near and post-revenue, scale to the next level. We like to invest in industries that our team and LPs have expertise in as we feel we can bring more to the table than just our money. We also focus on industries that have a growing presence in the Reno area. These include SaaS, Advanced Manufacturing, IoT, Blockchain, Hospitality, CyberSecurity, and Life Sciences.
Investment Criteria
1. Impressive teams- Since we invest early in companies, the team is the #1 consideration.
2. Attractive markets - You must realistically have the potential to return 20x our investment, so market size and SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market if you’re not familiar with the term, you’re probably not ready to apply to RSF) are also key considerations.
3. Traction - “We Love Revenues.” We primarily invest in companies that are post-revenue, ie, you have a growing base of paying customers.
4. Unique IP - Patents, trade secrets, branding, etc. We look for unique, defensible solutions to customer problems.
