Rasmuson Foundation
About Rasmuson Foundation
We are an Alaska-focused family philanthropy created in 1955 by Jenny Rasmuson and her son, Elmer Rasmuson. Over three generations, the Rasmusons built up the family-owned bank, then leveraged its sale in 1999 to turn the foundation into the largest private funder in Alaska. On average. we award $25 million to $30 million a year to improve the lives of Alaskans.
Our grants come in all sizes, from providing cross-country skis for kids, to equipment for village search and rescue missions, to large capital projects for new clinics, libraries, and community centers with long-lasting benefits.
Striving toward our vision of an Alaska where people, cultures, and communities are thriving, we offer five main grant types to Alaska organizations and individuals.
We also help finance projects through Program-Related Investments, and we provide support for comprehensive solutions through our initiatives.
