Rahul Desai, Angel Investor

I am an investment professional with over 25 years of debt and equity experience, investing in multiple sectors at both multilateral and private equity organizations. Most recently, I led the investment operations of the Inter-American Development Bank's impact investment unit, the first of its kind in a multilateral development bank. I have an extensive network of contacts and deep knowledge of Latin America. I am also an angel investor and now manage a seed fund and have invested in eleven early-stage companies focused on Mexico, the US Hispanic market, and/or Latin America. My experience has given me a keen analytic ability to select financially sustainable, scalable, and socially impactful investment opportunities, and has helped me develop the emotional intelligence to assess the quality of entrepreneurs and management. I have demonstrated the capacity to mentor and motivate multi-cultural investment teams. Although primarily an investor, I, too, have an entrepreneurial spirit, having founded two small businesses.
