PetroCap is an energy private equity firm based in Dallas, Texas. We make investments in onshore development projects that require $25 million to $75 million of net investment. Unlike traditional private equity that invests in companies, PetroCap invests as a working interest partner in upstream projects. Our team of industry professionals, including technical, land, and finance experts, works alongside our operating partners to provide additional resources and know-how to their projects. PetroCap’s typical investments are in upstream development projects with experienced operators in conventional and unconventional basins across the United States. We seek to own a majority of the working interest in each project and incentivize operators with a series of back-in interests that are earned after project returns reach certain investment hurdles. Currently, we have investments in the Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Midcontinent, and San Juan Basins.
