Paul Hamerly, Angel Investor

After founding and helping build Kitchen Basics Real Cooking Stocks into a national brand and selling the business to public company McCormick, I am now balancing my time between investing in and coaching early-stage company management, professional life coaching, and family life. I am attracted to businesses that address the world's biggest problems, including energy, water treatment, cleaning up the environment, personal health, nutrition, and mental health. I am a member of six very different angel groups—active in three—serving in due diligence across a wide array of industries and/or inboard capacities. In the early stage space, I have mentored on the Startup Bus twice (Detroit and Akron Ohio to New Orleans) and the ICorps customer discovery program five times (Ohio State national program and University of Akron regional program).
