Our strategy includes the following elements: We focus on early-stage companies where we can help define the business model, organizational design, ownership structure, and governance of the company. We focus on three sectors that we believe will continue to grow rapidly over the life of the fund, and in which the partners have significant operating experience: 1) E-commerce, 2) Digital media / ad technology, and 3) Software as a service. We focus on technology-driven companies that can scale rapidly while making efficient use of capital. We favor investment opportunities that are enhanced by innovative use of large amounts of data; which eliminate delay and provide “real time” benefits to customers; or that benefit from the trend in mobility (smartphones, tablets).
