Founded in 1984 by the City of Columbia, Boone County, and the University of Missouri, MIC helps Mid-Missouri founders turn research into companies. The Four Things We Do ▪Lab & Office Space 33,000 square feet of wet lab and office space, with shared infrastructure and University of Missouri environmental health and safety support from day one. ▪Capital MIC Fund 1 and the Centennial Investors angel network connect founders to early capital, syndicate partners, and follow-on investors. ▪Expertise MIC provides operating help across company formation, IP, commercialization, hiring, and grant strategy. ▪Network MIC sits in Mizzou's Research Commons and connects founders to research talent, core facilities, and institutional leadership. How capital flows through MIC? MIC-managed investment funds and an angel network of about fifty accredited investors are based in this building. Around those two vehicles, MIC helps build a wider base of early-stage support: federal SBIR and STTR grants, MTC co-investment, and professional syndicate partners.
