Matthew J. Rubins is an Educator, Angel Investor, and Education Entrepreneur. Matt Rubins is an active angel investor, educator, and entrepreneur focused on the education space. He is an active member of Launchpad Venture Group and Red Bear Angels, as well as a Venture Partner with LearnLaunch. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies and D’AmoreMcKim School of Business. He currently leads the law business for Abilitie, a global leader in business education simulations, and has also led finance training programs for major law firms. Matt began his professional career on Wall Street in 1990 as an investment banker focusing on telecommunications services and technology, merchant banking, high yield, and restructuring. He worked at several firms including Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Anthem Partners, and the Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Technology Group. Matt became a venture capitalist in 1997 when he joined M/C Venture Partners, a $1.4 billion venture capital/private equity firm focused on investments in telecommunications, media, and information technology. Matt joined the firm as an Associate and was promoted to General Partner in 2000. Matt built and led the firm’s IT practice where he led over $70 million of investments and served on 14 corporate boards. During his tenure, the firm raised three funds. In 2010, Matt left M/C Venture Partners to become an education entrepreneur and joined Fullbridge Inc., a startup in the education technology space. Fullbridge is a leader in skills-driven, competency-based, hybrid online/in-person education that bridges the gap between college and work. At Fullbridge, Matt led the company’s curriculum development team and also developed all of the company’s finance content. He also led finance training programs for over 1,400 participants during his tenure.
