Massachusetts Clean Energy Center

MassCEC (Massachusetts Clean Energy Center) is a state economic development agency founded in 2010, based in Boston, Massachusetts, dedicated to accelerating the state's clean energy sector. Since inception, it has awarded over $900M through clean energy programs and incentives, attracting more than $3B in private and federal capital. Its Emerging Climatetech program provides both grants and early-stage equity investments, having deployed over $39M into climatetech companies to date. Current open funding opportunities include Business Builds: Climatetech ($500K–$2M in grants), the Climatetech Testing & Demonstration Assets Program ($1M–$5M), and the MASS Timber Assembly program ($40,000). MassCEC's broader focus areas include Accelerating Decarbonization (high-performance buildings, clean transportation, net-zero grid), Offshore Energy, and Workforce development, having supported over 7,000 college and vocational internships across 680 organizations statewide since 2010.
