Marlissa Hudson, Angel Investor

Marlissa Hudson is a Fundraiser, Angel Investor, and Artist. During Marilissa's 20+ years as a classical singer, she learned that it’s critical to move past correct notes and dynamics to bring people on an emotional journey – otherwise, a technically perfect performance falls flat. Off stage, she has learned that being successful in creating buy-in and engagement requires a very similar skill set, including the courage to fail and openness to change. She has always been passionate about connection and engagement. Her gift for vulnerable communication fosters an environment that accelerates timelines for investment. This gift has also led her to start a consulting firm alongside her partner in social good, Lynn English (the better half of EH). Their team at English Hudson provides the bridge for nonprofits and funders, helping organizations and corporations cultivate relationships instead of simply connecting individuals. They pride themselves on providing tools for current and future success (strategy, fundraising, resourcing, etc.), supporting those who are often marginalized, and remaining environmentally conscious while doing so. Marlissa is currently doing her angel investing through Pipeline Angels. Pipeline Angels is changing the face of angel investing and venture capital, as well as creating funding for trans women, cis women, nonbinary, two-spirit, agender, and gender-nonconforming founders.
