About Marc Tarpenning, Angel Investor

Marc Tarpenning, best known as the co‑founder of Tesla, is deeply engaged in both venture investing and advisory work. He recently joined the Archaeological Institute of America as a General Trustee, supporting its mission to protect and share global history. He is a Venture Partner at Spero Ventures, focusing on early‑stage companies that improve well‑being, purpose, and human connection. Marc also serves on the Advisory Board of UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET), helping shape the university’s innovation ecosystem, and advises startups through SkyDeck Berkeley. Additionally, he is on the advisory board of Clearpath Robotics. His investment portfolio includes Telo Trucks, Artelize, Hylight, Mast Reforestation, Alta Motors, and Tesla, spanning clean energy, robotics, and sustainable technology ventures.
