Main Sequence

We are Australia’s deep tech investment fund tackling the world’s biggest challenges by turning today’s scientific discoveries into tomorrow’s industries. Main Sequence works closely with scientists, researchers and industry collaborators to create, fund and accelerate new companies and industries that accelerate humanity for a more prosperous future. Main Sequence was set up in 2017 to manage the CSIRO Innovation Fund, founded by the Australian Government and the national science agency to reinvest its historic contributions into the successes of the future. Over the past four years, Main Sequence has invested in 39 companies changing the way healthcare is delivered, food is produced, spaces are connected and more. These investments have led to more than 60 company collaborative projects with universities and 19 projects with CSIRO. Some qualifiers to help you find the fit: ▪ We hope you are going after a huge problem in the world. ▪ Your business will deliver a solution using cutting-edge science or difficult engineering that you and your team are uniquely able to deliver. ▪ We invest in company foundation through Seed, Series A and Series B. ▪ We invest in pre-seed companies through to mature companies. ▪ Our investments must have a connection with Australian publicly funded research. This does not need to exist before investment but needs to be part of the investment design. Be ready to articulate how your company does (or could) work with an Australian university or other research group such as CSIRO. It is OK to bring science problems you need to solve, and we can explore this with you.
