Our first equity stake began as an initiative to find an investment in renewable energy for a single-family office and a close network of high-net-worth investors. Being an upstart in a challenging macro environment meant we had to be entrepreneurial, creative, and hands-on – we had to create our opportunities and not wait for them to come to us. We did this by combining our deep financing and capital markets experience with a strong curiosity about how the world is changing and where we should be positioned to capture growth inflection in new markets. Beginning with our role in launching Canada’s largest rooftop solar company, we have since supported innovative businesses in next-generation energy and transportation markets and expanded our investor base with institutional partners.
