Lorem Partners

Lorem Partners is the brand name used by Curtis Bartlett and Ron Miller to conduct their joint investment activities. They have been business partners since they first met on a deal more than 20 years ago. We invest our own capital through our respective holding companies. Lorem Partners does not have outside investors, but we do maintain an informal network of co-investors that often participate alongside us. We are based in Calgary and Toronto, Canada. We have focused on funding the growth of start-up and early-stage companies in both the conventional and renewable energy sectors and have backed businesses operating in Canada and internationally. We have had rewarding investment careers, participating in the start-up, growth, and successful exit of more than a dozen private and public companies. We take a long-term perspective and have invested in companies with unique and compelling value-creation opportunities. We mitigate risk by being active board members and partnering with superior management teams that can overcome the inevitable ups and downs of early-stage growth.
