Lookout Ventures

Lookout invests in companies that are anywhere from pre-revenue to $1M in ARR. These are typically labeled pre-seed, seed, seed extension, or small Series A rounds, but we don’t really care what they’re called. Lookout invests in B2B businesses with recurring revenue business models, typically SaaS. We focus on sectors in which we have deep domain expertise and many prior investments - namely cybersecurity, infrastructure software, MSP/MSSP software, and vertical SaaS. We focus on geographies underserved by seed venture capital outside of Silicon Valley, New York, and Boston. We will look anywhere, but we often find ourselves in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast, and Texas. We are also comfortable with fully remote teams. We think it's important to meet with founders in person, so we are "boots on the ground" in these places multiple times per year. We like that companies often have a good reason to be building in these geographies (e.g., cybersecurity in DC; logistics software in the Midwest; and so on). Lookout writes checks of $250K to $2M, so we can lead, co-lead, or follow in investment rounds. When we lead rounds we often, but not always, ask for a board seat to support the company.
