Liya Safina is a digital design director and innovation expert living in Hawaii, currently designing immersive experiences with Google’s AR/VR team, as well as serving as an Executive Creative Advisor with Verbal+Visual. Over the years, Liya has experienced a variety of leadership scenarios, from bootstrapping a startup to designing for the future city currently being built by Toyota in Japan. With over a decade of experience in digital innovation, her vision is to build a future where technology serves human needs, instead of humans serving revenue models. Liya is also a private investor. Her portfolio includes Thrive Smart Systems, a developer of wireless irrigation systems for agricultural, residential, and commercial buildings.
