Larry Cermak, Angel Investor

Larry Cermak is President of The Block, where he previously served as CEO during a critical restructuring. He led the company through a $70M sale to Foresight Ventures, launched new products and partnerships, and positioned the business for long‑term growth. His leadership also included creating GMCI, a crypto index provider, and introducing Emergence, The Block’s flagship institutional conference. Earlier, Larry was Head of Research and Data at The Block for over four years, building one of the most respected research organizations in crypto. He scaled a 30‑person team, developed widely cited data dashboards, and generated millions in revenue through premium research products. He began his career at Diar, focusing on crypto research and analysis. As an angel investor, Larry has made about 12 investments, primarily in blockchain, fintech, and emerging technology startups. His recent portfolio includes Agent, ZAP, Blast, and Flip, reflecting his focus on platforms driving innovation in decentralized finance and digital ecosystems.
