Larry Augustin is an entrepreneur, angel investor, and advisor to technology companies. He was previously Vice President for Applications at Amazon Web Services (AWS), overseeing businesses across contact center, marketing automation, productivity, developer services, and end‑user computing. Earlier, Larry was CEO and Chairman of SugarCRM, where he scaled the company from $10M in revenue and a $15M loss to $100M in revenue and positive EBITDA before its acquisition by Accel‑KKR in 2018. He also founded VA Linux, leading it through a record‑setting IPO in 1999 and launching SourceForge.net, which became the world’s largest open source development community. He has been recognized as one of the group that coined the term Open Source and has written and spoken extensively on the subject worldwide. As an angel investor and board member, his portfolio includes GitLab, MindTouch, Pentaho, Hyperic, JBoss, XenSource, Appcelerator, DNN, Splashtop, and Ohloh, highlighting his interest in open source, enterprise software, and developer platforms. His most recent investment is Positron Networks.
