About Kraft Group
The Kraft Group's investment arm began in the mid-1980s when Robert Kraft recognized the value of diversifying the company's excess capital outside its core operating businesses. Long before "family office" structures became common, Kraft began building a portfolio of hedge fund, private equity, and venture investments alongside some of the country's top fund managers.
Today, that portfolio has expanded beyond fund investments to include a significant number of direct investments, sourced through the Kraft Group's extensive network of relationships built across decades in manufacturing, real estate, and professional sports.
The direct investment focus centers on technology, healthcare, and life sciences, reflecting a deliberate expansion from purely allocating capital to established managers toward more hands-on participation in high-growth sectors.
This investment platform operates as one pillar of the broader Kraft Group, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Foxborough, Massachusetts, alongside its paper and packaging manufacturing businesses (Rand-Whitney, International Forest Products, New-Indy Container) and sports and entertainment holdings (the New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium, and New England Revolution).
